One dead, another injured in serious condition in Surakhani fire -UPDATED

At around 00:05 today, an explosion occurred in a yard house located on the Hovsan-Turkan road in the Surakhani district, prompting a call to the Republican Center for Emergency and Urgent Medical Aid, TABIB said in response to APA's inquiry.

It was noted that an emergency medical team was dispatched to the scene.

The emergency team hospitalized a 24-year-old male to the Burn Center under the Narimanov Medical Center with a diagnosis of second- and third-degree thermal flame burns on the face, both ears, neck, both forearms, and the back of the torso, as well as respiratory tract burns.

The patient is currently being treated in the Intensive Care Unit. His condition is assessed as serious.

In the Surakhani district, the combustible structures of a two-story, 4-room house with a total area of 200 m² (each floor 100 m²), which was operating as an alcohol production facility, have burned, Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) told APA.

During reconnaissance at the scene, the burnt body of one person was discovered by firefighters and handed over to the relevant authorities, and one person sustained burn injuries during the fire. Nearby buildings were protected from the fire.

The fire was extinguished by firefighting units.
