The interference with Jalil Mammadguluzadeh’s bas-relief in Tbilisi has been removed, APA’s local bureau reports.
The white scratches on the inscription “Azerbaijan” on the memorial plaque were removed with a special solution.
The restoration of the inscription was carried out by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Georgia and the Council of Azerbaijani Elders of Georgia, which provides public oversight of Jalil Mammadguluzadeh’s house-museum.
It was not possible to determine who erased the inscription, as there were no security cameras in the area where the museum is located.
Note that the building housing the house-museum has had the status of a cultural heritage monument since 2007. In Georgia, a fine of 2,000 lari (1,250 AZN) is imposed for the illegal writing of any inscriptions or drawing of graffiti on the façades of such buildings.
