The trial of foreign nationals who planned an assassination on a foreign official during his visit to Baku has concluded, the verdict was delivered today in the Baku Court on Grave Crimes under the chairmanship of Judge Novruz Karimov, APA reports.
Based on the verdict, foreign nationals Yazdan Shenas Khales Hossein Ramezanali and Javidanhelan Ehsan Hossein were sentenced to 10 years in prison each.
Note that Yazdan Shenas Khales Hossein Ramezanali and Javidanhelan Ehsan Hossein were detained as a result of an operation conducted by the State Security Service on May 31, 2023.
They are accused of arriving in Azerbaijan under a fabricated pretext and preparing an assassination (terrorist act) against a foreign official in Baku city during his visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The charges against them were based on Articles 28 (Preparation for the crime) and 277 (Infringement of life state or public figure (act of terrorism)) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
