A large amount of narcotics drugs was prevented from being smuggled into the country, APA reports citing the Press Center of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan.
Measures to ensure the reliable protection of the state border and combat the illegal circulation of narcotics, psychotropic substances, and their precursors are being successfully continued. A violation of the state border from the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan was prevented in the service area of the Lankaran border detachment of the Border Troops Command of the State Border Service.
As a result of the conducted border search and operational measures, a total weight of 9 kilograms 376 grams of marijuana and 560 methadone M-40 pills containing narcotics were detected and seized from the service area.
Operational-investigative measures on the fact are continuing.
