An attempt to violate the state border from the Islamic Republic of Iran towards the Republic of Azerbaijan was prevented in the service area of the "Goytapa" border detachment of the Border Troops of the State Border Service (SBS), the Press Center of the State Border Service told APA.
As a result of conducted border search and operational measures, a total of 75 kilograms and 875 grams of narcotic substances (48 kg 875 g of marijuana, 17 kg of heroin, 8 kg of methamphetamine, 2 kg of opium) and 2,000 tablets of the drug-containing Methadone M-40 were discovered and seized from the service area.
Operational-investigative measures are ongoing in connection with the fact.
