Cooperation in the fight against crime with the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan continues successfully, the Press Service of the Prosecutor General's Office told APA.
The request of the Prosecutor General's Office of Uzbekistan for the extradition of Arslan Bekpulat Kholmurzayev, a citizen of Uzbekistan born in 1995, to face criminal charges, has been granted by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Kholmurzayev, who was accused of committing fraud causing significant damage in Uzbekistan and placed on international wanted lists, detained in Azerbaijan in January of this year being identified and a preventive measure was selected on him.
Based on the "Convention on Legal Aid and Legal Relations in Civil, Family, and Criminal Matters" dated October 7, 2002, a decision was made regarding the extradition of the accused and then he was handed over to the competent authorities of the Republic of Uzbekistan under the escort of a special convoy from the Ministry of Justice's Penitentiary Service.
