The request from the Prosecutor General's Office of Turkmenistan for the extradition of Turkmen citizen Saparov Atarejep Agajepbarovich, born in 2000, to be held criminally responsible has been granted by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Prosecutor General’s Office told APA.
Saparov Atarejep Agajepbarovich was wanted internationally on charges of committing crimes against sexual integrity and freedom. He was located and detained in Azerbaijan in January of this year, and a pre-trial detention measure was applied against him.
Based on the "Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters" dated January 22, 1993, a decision was made regarding the extradition of the accused person and he was handed over to the authorized body of Turkmenistan under escort by the Special Convoy of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.
