Police officers have carried out an operation against Iranian nationals who are members of a transnational organized crime group involved in smuggling narcotics into the country and distributing them to various locations, the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Lankaran regional group told APA’s southern bureau.
Hadi Fesihi, 26, and Reza Atai, 29, were detained by officers of the Yardimli District Police Department.
A total of 36 kilograms of marijuana, heroin, and methamphetamine, enriched with psychotropic substances, were seized from them.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident, and the detained individuals have been placed under pre-trial detention by court order.
Operations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the criminal network and their associates within the country.
