In 2024, the Mine Action Agency and state and non-state institutions involved in mine clearance operations carried out cleaning operations on a total area of 62,023.9 hectares, this was reflected in the Cabinet of Ministers' report for 2024, APA reports.
In these areas, 65,821 mines and other military ammunitions were discovered and neutralized.
Specifically, in 2024, the Mine Action Agency cleared 43,968.7 hectares, the Ministry of Defense — 7,941.4 hectares, the Ministry of Emergency Situations — 622.4 hectares, the State Border Service — 110.3 hectares, and local companies — 9,381.1 hectares.
During the reporting period, 35,154 mines and unexploded military munitions were detected and neutralized by the Agency, 25,304 by the Ministry of Defense, 260 by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 401 by the State Border Service, and 4,702 by local companies.
In 2024, the mine clearance operations covered 22,381.8 hectares of agricultural land, 592.5 hectares for transportation, 18,232 hectares for residential infrastructure, 2,327.5 hectares for energy projects, and 18,490.1 hectares for other projects.
Of the mine clearance operations carried out in 2024, 9,507 hectares were in Aghdam district, 11,173 hectares in Jabrayil district, 8,881.4 hectares in Fuzuli district, 5,994.4 hectares in Kalbajar district, 7,747.5 hectares in Zangilan district, 5,864.7 hectares in Lachin district, 2,150.3 hectares in Khojavend district, 1,039.4 hectares in Tartar district, 1,650.1 hectares in Khojaly district, 6,911.6 hectares in Gubadli district, 261.8 hectares in Shusha district, and 842.7 hectares in other districts.
In 2024, based on inquiries received through the 102, 112, and 805 call service centers, the Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) discovered and neutralized 5.9 thousand mines and other military ammunitions not only in the liberated territories but also in other regions and cities of the country, including Aghstafa, Barda, Goranboy, Goygol, Naftalan, Gazakh, Samukh, Shamkir, Tovuz, Yevlakh, Ganja, Aghjabadi, Aghdash, Gadabay, Gabala, and Zardab.
