Avaz Zeynalli, head of the online television channel “Khural,” has been released from custody, APA reports.
Zeynalli was freed from the Medical Facility of the Ministry of Justice.

The Nizami District Court has ruled to release the imprisoned head of "Khural" internet television, Avaz Zeynalli, from serving his sentence due to illness, APA reports.
His lawyer, Rashad Aliyev, informed about this decision. The lawyer mentioned that the court has freed him from serving his sentence due to his health condition.
Avaz Zeynalli joined the court hearing online.
The court applied Article 511 of the Criminal Procedure Code (Exemption from Serving Sentence Due to Illness) and released Avaz Zeynalli from his sentence.
It is reported that he will be released from the correctional facility today.
Note that the court reviewed the application regarding the release of Zeynalli from the remaining part of his sentence due to his illness.
During the process, chaired by Judge Nigar Gadirli at the Nizami District Court, the court decided to send the case for medical examination to confirm his illness. According to the decision, Zeynalli's illness will be assessed by a medical commission. It was mentioned that the medical examination will be carried out by the Ministry of Justice's Medical Department. The examination will be conducted by specialized experts. The examination process will be completed within a month.
The process had been postponed indefinitely.
Earlier, it was reported that Avaz Zeynalli had been diagnosed with cancer, and an application had been made for his early release due to this.
Zeynalli was convicted under the Criminal Code articles 178.2.1, 311.3.2, 311.3.3, 311.3.4, 32.4, 312.2, and 312-1.1, and sentenced to 9 years in prison by the Baku Court on Grave Crimes.
The Supreme Court partially upheld Zeynalli’s appeal and reduced his sentence by two months.
