On July 17, the Baku City Prosecutor's Office held an extensive operational meeting dedicated to discussing the status of the work done in the fight against crime, investigative work, prosecutorial control in the first half of 2025 and the tasks ahead, APA reports.
Speaking at the meeting, Baku City Prosecutor Elshan Abbasov stated that as a result of the successful political, economic, social, military construction and diplomatic policy implemented by President Ilham Aliyev in the first half of 2025, progress and development were achieved in all areas of society, and the sovereignty of the country was further strengthened.
The operational meeting provided detailed information on the work done by the Baku City Prosecutor's Office, together with other law enforcement agencies, to combat crime and ensure citizen satisfaction in the implementation of the tasks determined by the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
It was noted that during the first half of 2025, a total of 7,549 criminal cases were registered by the prosecutor's office and internal affairs bodies of Baku, of which 92.6% were solved.
As a result of the measures taken by establishing mutual working relations with the internal affairs bodies of Baku, all 12 intentional homicides committed in the first half of 2025 were solved.
