In January 2026, a total of 85 people were hospitalized in the Toxicology Department of the Clinical Medical Center with diagnoses of poisoning of various origins, said CMC in response to APA’s inquiry.
As a result of timely and appropriate treatment measures, the condition of 81 patients was stabilized, and they were discharged home in satisfactory condition for outpatient treatment.
Of the patients, 27 were poisoned by medications, 2 by rat poison (rodenticide), 29 by acetic acid, 1 by chemical solutions, 2 by allergic reactions, 2 by alcohol, 21 by carbon monoxide, and 1 was treated for inhalational poisoning.
Specialized toxicological care, intensive therapy, resuscitation, and detoxification measures were provided to all patients by the medical staff.
Despite the intensive treatment measures taken, unfortunately, it was not possible to save the lives of 4 people (1 woman and 3 men).
The main causes of death were toxic conditions caused by carbon monoxide and acetic acid poisoning.
