Azerbaijani Deputy Premier: Type of the concrete in the collapsed building was three times lower than in the project

He said that the operations that will be carried out at the site were debated at the meeting. Abid Sharifov protested to the remarks on the rescue operations.
â€œWe are often blamed that rescue operations are carried out slowly. They do not understand that there are people under the rubble. We could not plough to rescue the persons trapped under the debris. Therefore, we preferred manual work. Any negligence could enlarge the scale of the tragedy, for example, several rescuers may die. No one is sleeping here. But we should confess that there is little chance that someone may be rescued after that,â€ he said.
Abid Sharifov said the construction company is to blame for the tragedy.
â€œThose who build 12-14 storeys, instead of 9 for the sake of making money should learn from this tragedy,â€ he said.
Commenting on the buildings next to the collapsed one, the commission chief said it will depend on the judgment of the examination.
â€œIt will take at least a week. The residents of the nearest buildings left their houses at our request. Police posts have been established in front of the buildings for the protection of their apartments and things. The main thing here is the fate of people,â€ he said.
Deputy Prime Minister said that concrete samples taken from wreckages were examined.
â€œI should underline regretfully that the type of the concrete in the collapsed building was three times lower than the project. The condition of the buildings constructed by â€œMutafakkirâ€ MTK is the same. The collapsed building damaged second floor of the nearby building. And this also caused tragedy of so many people,â€ he said.
Sharifov said that reporting on knocking down nearby buildings is rumour.
â€œThe results of the examination are not yet known. As to the compensation, time is needed for it. Therefore it should be investigated whom they paid money for buying apartment,â€ he said. /APA/
