Skirmish occurs in Russia-Azerbaijan border

Terror occurred against militia officials in Yarag-Gazmalar area in the border of Russia-Azerbaijan at 22.00 on April 26. Dagestan Interior Ministryâ€™s department told the APA Dagestan bureau.
The incident occurred when the militia wanted to examine car marked â€œJiguliâ€. The unknown men fired on the police and escaped. Two officials of Maharramkand Militia Office seriously injured as a result of the incident. They were hospitalized. Just after the incident operative operation-investigation group has been established and region police are at the site. Additional posts have been established in Maharramkand, passenger cars, and lorries are being examined. The surrounding regionsâ€™ militia offices were informed on the incident. â€œBorder-shieldâ€ operation is being implemented in Dagestan-Azerbaijan border on the joint consent of both Republicsâ€™ Interior Ministries from April 23. It aims to strengthen struggle against transnational crimes and religious extremism and pick up illegal arms from people. Measures are also being taken for the arresting of wanted people in both sides in the framework of operation. /APA/
