Trial of Behram Mammedov accused of kidnapping starts

Trial of a gang led by Behram Mammedov accused of kidnapping his brother has started in the Grave Crimes Court presided over by Nushabe Agayeva, the court told APA.
According to the indictment, Behram Mammedov created an armed group and kidnapped his brother Meherrem Mammedov in order to get properties. He created a group composed of his son-in-law Tahir Huseynov, son Seid Mammedov, his friends Orkhan Pashayev and Anar Gafarov. They followed Meherrem Mammedov for a few days. The gang members waited for him near water channel not far from Novkhani village at night of July 29-30 at 1:00. They stopped Mercedes controlled by Meherrem. After tying his hands and legs they put him into the luggage carrier and brought him to a place called â€œShimal DRESSâ€? in Shuvelan. The gang demanded $1mln from him. He was released after agreeing to give $200.000.
Behram Mammedov, Seid Mammedov, Tahir Huseynov, Orkhan Pashayev, Anar Gafarov are found guilty under articles 144.3 (kidnapping), 145.3 (illegal deprivation of freedom), 182.3.1 (menacing demands by organized group) and 182.3.3 (harming victimâ€™s health by menacing demands) of the Criminal Code.
