The trial of Abbas Mustafayev, president of the private Independent Azerbaijan University, book-keeper Esmira Eyvazova and cashier Shirin Asgerova has been postponed, a well-informed source told the APA.
The reason is Mustafayev’s being seriously ill. The University president had a heart attack and he is being treated at hospital.
The court told the APA that the investigation into the case has ended. The trial will continue after president feels good. The date of next trial has not been set yet.
University president Abbas Mustafayev, book-keeper Esmira Eyvazova and cashier Shirin Asgerova face charges under the articles 213.4 (tax evasion) and 308.1 (abuse of power) of the Criminal Code. The investigation was carried out by Office to Combat Corruption at Republic Prosecutor’s Office. /APA/
