1,681,0644sq.m areas of Azerbaijani territory were cleared from mines and unexploded ordnances (UXO) and 7520 UXO have been rendered harmless in January, Azerbaijani National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) told the APA. 25 mine detection dogs, 156 sappers, 47 UXO operators, eight paramedics, over 100 assistants and 12 mechanical demining flail and five mine clear machines were involved in the mineclearance. ANAMA reports no mine or UXO explosions occurred last month.
43,272,195sq.m areas of Azerbaijani territories have been cleared from mines and unexploded ordnances and 105, 647 UXO have been neutralized up to now. 81 mine-UXO explosions have killed 51 people and injured 116 since September 2001./APA/
