Azeri Interior Ministry probing into IMF Office theft

Ministry spokesperson, Ehsan zahidov, told the APA that no suspect has been detained yet.
Four computer hard drives were stolen from the IMF Office in Baku.
“Everything was ok when we left the office on Friday. We saw computer processors (hard disks) stolen on Monday while all other office equipment was OK. Doors and windows were not broken, so it was not a break-in. Only we have the keys,� the office told APA.
The office representative said the only purpose was to steal information because all data base was saved in these computers.
INF Office is housed on the third floor of five-storied building of the Finance Ministry, which is always under police control.
Nasimi Police Department inspector, Emin Hasanov, told the APA that they have probed into the problem and collected materials have been forwarded to investigation department to open a criminal case.
Investigation department said a criminal case has been instituted under Article 177 (theft) of the Criminal Code.
The incident came about a week before the arrival of a high-level IMF delegation, which is expected to discuss government efforts to restructure the country’s energy sector and other issues.
