Head of Igdir municipality: Ilham Aliyev is not only the president of Azerbaijani compatriots, but also the president of World Azerbaijanis
“Igdir is the province which neighbours with three countries- Azerbaijan, Armenia and Iran. There is 120 000hectare sowing area, which has important potential for Turkey. Most of 170 000 population are Azerbaijani Turks, he said.
Nureddin Aras said that in the beginning of last century Armenians committed genocides for many times.
“Armenians committed incredible crimes against our compatriots. They murdered thousands of residents in the villages. Ten mass graveyards have been found in Igdir where our compatriots buried. The group of expert composed of historians, archeologists and anthropologists held investigations in the region and found graveyards in Hakmehmet, Oba and Araliq villages of Igdir. The works to reveal other crimes and to make the entire world to recognize their crimes will be continued in future too. We will never forget their crimes and will determine our future basing on the events happened in the history of our country. From these point of view Igdir officials has never proposed to open the border for Armenians. We can not forget what Armenians did to our grandfathers, we do not have rights for it, he said. Nureddin Aras noted that it is necessary to fulfill some terms to open Turkey-Armenian borders.
“Azerbaijani lands are still under occupation. Armenians should immediately leave these lands and recognize current borders and refuse of their claims about false genocides. If Armenia fulfills these terms, we do not see any problem in opening the borders, Nureddin Aras said.
He also said that there are forces that demand opening the borders with Armenia.
“They claim that if the borders opened, poor Kars people will get rich. Do they have any information about the conditions of Armenian economy? Armenians can live anyhow, how will they enrich Kars? If we open the borders, not we but Armenians will win. And then they will run at Turkish people. That is why the claims to open the borders are groundless and inadmissible, he said. /APA/
