Google Video introduces Tabriz as part of Azerbaijan Republic

The video titled Tabriz - Azerbaijan describes that the ancient city Tabriz is located in Southern Azerbaijan, suggestion it shouldnâ€™t be part of Iran. A Google search on [tabriz azerbaijan] shows the Google Video as (currently) number one with a snippet that reads; â€œThis video shows Tabriz, a city in Southern Azerbaijan, currently in the territory of Iran.â€? A search for [tabriz] shows this result at the bottom of the first page or top of second page. Iran is upset with Google over this and feels that it is a US centric method of undermining Iran and â€œsubversionâ€? by the US-owned search engine.
Iranian government officials have urged people to bombard the search engine giant with emails over the â€œinsultâ€?.
Iranâ€™s IT ministryâ€™s representative, Samad Mohmen Bela, issued a patriotic call to arms with: Â«This act is a typical example of interference in the affairs of another country. The simplest, most effective response is for all Iranian users to blitz Googleâ€™s management with emails.
Iranian MP Valiallah Azarvash called it a â€˜slightâ€™ against Iran.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini said that Googleâ€™s mistake in introducing Tabriz as part of Azerbaijan Republic was a mischievous act. /APA/
