Azerbaijan sends extra 48 rescuers to Turkey

Baku – APA. Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations sent one more plane to Van, the quake-hit region of Turkey. APA reports quoting the website of the Ministry of Emergency Situations that the third plane with 48 rescuers, primary necessities for the quake-affected people took off at 13.00 today.

7.2-magnitude quake hit Van city on October 23. Earthquake shocks were felt in Diyarbakir, Batman, Sirnak, Mus, Erzurum, Bitlis, Bingol, Siirt and Mardin.

According to the Seismological Service Center of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, 3.5-magnitude quake was felt in Sederek, Sherur, Babek regions of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan Republic, as well as in Nakhchivan city.

According to official reports, 220 were killed, over 1000 injured in Van earthquake.
