General Prosecutorâ€™s Office of Azerbaijan launches criminal investigation about Elvan Irmak Foods Ltd

The Service of Consumers Rights Protection and Anti-Monopoly Policy of the Ministry of Economic Development revised Elvanâ€™s products and found expired candy, chocolates and cakes, including the expired products imported from Turkey. It also identified empty boxes designed for the Turkey-made products. The company used Black Dot Cleaner to remove expire date on the boxes and packages. It also organized sale of foods without hygienic certificates. Korogly Ltd, who implemented sale of Elvanâ€™s products to the commercial networks, was also revised and large deal of expired products was pulled out of the sale.
The investigative materials were sent to the General Prosecutorâ€™s Office of Azerbaijan.

A criminal investigation was launched in accordance with the articles 197.2, 200.1 and 308.1 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan about the illegal use of trade mark, consumer fraud, production and sale of low-quality foods, abuse of office. The investigation is conducted by the Anti-Corruption Department of the General Prosecutorâ€™s Office.

The investigation is going on.
