Eldar Mahmudov: The main actors of Elmar Huseynovâ€™s murder are known, they will be detained and brought to justice sooner or later

In May, 2005, search was initiated for them through Interpol. National Central Bureau of Interpol in Azerbaijan is contacting with 188 countries. Information about these persons has been sent to all of these countries, search continues,â€ Minister of National Security, Lieutenant-General Eldar Mahmudov said in his interview to the Azerbayjan newspaper, APA reports.

Eldar Mahmudov said Azerbaijani side had filed six petitions to Georgian General Prosecutorâ€™s Office for legal assistance, detention and extradition of Tahir Khubanov and Teymuraz Aliyev, the members of the investigation group had been sent to Georgia in connection with the petitions several times.
â€œThere are some problems that are connected with the relevant items and procedural rules of every country. Anyway, we have normal relations with all partners, including intelligence agencies of the neighboring countries. We try to solve the problems with joint efforts. The inspectors were sent to Russia and Bulgaria to determine the origin of the weapon and its owner. Following statistics showed how serious importance was given to the investigation of this case: more than 600 witnesses were interrogated, about 160 inspections and searches, 20 examinations and 51 identifications were conducted. I would like to underline the work of law-enforcement organizations. Recent publications in some newspapers had a slander character and were illogical and irresponsible interpretations. I said for many times that investigation of details of this case, identification of all persons involved in Elmar Huseynovâ€™s murder and bringing them to justice is a principal issue for us and we will achieve it sooner or later. The main actors of the crime are known and they will be detained and brought to justice sooner or later. There is only a factor of time, but we believe that it will happen soon. We identified the people who killed Elmar Huseynov and investigation proved their guilt. We are using all methods and opportunities, taking necessary investigative measures to arrest them soonâ€.
