Prosecutor General: No news in investigation of former deputy defense minister of Azerbaijan Rail Rzayev’s assassination

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. There is no news in the investigation of assassination of the former deputy defense minister and Air Force and Air Defense Commander Lieutenant-General Rail Rzayev, said Prosecutor General of the republic Zakir Garalov, APA reports.
Garalov said Rail Rzayev’s aide, who took some things from the Rzayev’s office after his assassination, was already arrested.
Rzayev’s aide Aydin Rafiyev and his son Anar Rafiyev were arrested on April 16. The investigative group of the Grave Crime Investigation Office of the Republican Prosecutor’s Office searched the Rafiyev’s house and Mitsubishi Pajero owned by his family. They found Rzayev’s jacket and license number of his car in the Rafiyev’s car. Anar Rafiyev faced charges under articles 177 (robbery) and 179 (embezzlement) of the Criminal Code and court sentenced him to two months in jail. Despite pre-trial imprisonment, charges against Aydin Rafiyev were not publicized.
The term of Aydin Rafiyev’s imprisonment was prolonged for three month months on January 12, 2010 for four times.
