Azerbaijani Interior Ministry takes stance on detainment of AMIP leader Etibar Mammadov’s relative

Spokesman for the ministry Ehsan Zahidov told APA that in December 2009, Turkish citizen Suat Aray appealed the Interior Ministry informing that Khanmammadov received 237 700 USD from him promising to send fuel for his company, but he didn’t send fuel and return remained part of money - 211 000 USD. The Turkish businessman asked the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry to help him to return back his money.

Khanmammadov was invited to the Interior Ministry’s Head Office for Combating Organized Crimes. He paid 30 000 USD to the Turkish businessman and promised him to pay remained part in a certain period.

Zahidov denied reports about the Khanmammadov’s arrest. “He was invited to the Head Office for Combating Organized Crimes and was released after the testimony”.
