Spanish parliamentarian: â€œArmenia is not fulfilling the UN resolutionsâ€

Baku. Mubariz Aslanov – APA. First vice-speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament Ziyafet Asgarov has today met with the delegation of the Spanish Parliament’s informal friendship group on Azerbaijan.

The parliament told APA that thoroughly speaking the Nagorno Karabakh problem, Asgarov noted that Armenia still continues its aggressive position, has repeatedly violated ceasefire in the recent weeks and we have suffered losses on frontline regions: “Since 1988 our cursed neighbours have committed hundreds of terrorist attacks in Azerbaijan and committed Khojaly massacre on February 26, 1992.”

José María Chiquillo, the deputy of the Spanish People's Party for Valencia province, member of the Foreign Affairs Commission, said that they are already informed about the Nagorno Karabakh confict, the violation of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and Khojaly tragedy: “Armenia has not fulfilled the resolutions of the UN Security Council for more than 20 years.”

Touching upon the importance of human rights, Chiquillo noted that Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs have not lost only their properties, but have also had psychological trauma: “We are ready to do our best to remove this trauma and resolve the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. We also mention that the strengthening of our inter-parliamentary relations can pave the way for the operation of the leading Spanish companies in Azerbaijan.”
