“I can only think that anybody who would promote such outrageously false allegations simply wants to undermine the relationship between the United States and Azerbaijan.
And we cannot let that happen.
As I said before, the number one priority do the United States is to promote the sovereignty and independence of Azerbaijan. We cooperate in many different areas that are in both countries’ interest. We have issues at different points in time as any two countries have. For example, we do have issues sometimes related to democracy.
But we continue to be strong partners and we need to have a strong relationship. Ridiculous false allegations don’t help. I don’t think I could be any more clear,” Ambassador Morningstar said.
