Many projects of this organization are being implemented in Azerbaijan. This event is one of these projects. Close participation of the First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva in ISESCO’s activity has brought a significant dynamism to this organization. She has contributed to improving the country’s cooperation with that organization,” said the Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmadov at the 4th Islamic Conference of Ministers in charge of Childhood entitled “Children and the Challenges of Urbanization in the Islamic World”, APA reports.
Making a keynote speech at the event, Ali Ahmadov read President Ilham Aliyev’s letter of congratulation to the participants.
The letter says: “I hope that this conference in Azerbaijan’s capital will have a positive influence on the deepening of mutually useful relations among the ISESCO member states, strengthening of the useful cooperation and contribute to solving the problems of children and urbanization in the Islamic world. Urbanization, which has widely spread during the globalization, requires solution of a number of problems in every country. In the state programs on regional development of Azerbaijan, the infrastructure, ecological environment and relevant social provisions of cities are established taking into account the needs of all layers of the society, including children. These activities will be certainly continued in the future. Provision of the children’s rights to health and education is one of the top priorities of the democratic society in the modern world. As a result of the state policy, useful environment has been formed for all spheres of children’s rights, as well as solution of urbanization-related problems and concrete programs and projects are being realized”.
The letter also says that positions of Islamic countries on the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict and relevant decisions adopted on the protection of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity are highly appreciated in Azerbaijan: “This means the restoration of the major rights of one million Azerbaijanis, who are obliged to live the life of refugees and internally displaced persons, and the provision of their children’s rights. Of course, our joint efforts in this sphere will bear fruit. The strategy of sustainable development requires strengthening of the activity of various international organizations, including ISESCO for the solution of the problems of children’s rights and urbanization. I am sure that the conference will pay attention to these issues, hold broad discussions and take important steps towards their solution.”
The conference is attended by the representatives of 10 international organizations and ministers and experts from 51 countries.
