Baku. Shamil Alibayli – APA. Latvian Embassy in Azerbaijan has commented on the mistake in textbook titled “The geography of the new world” published in this country.
Latvian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hardijs Baumanis told APA that the textbook was published by an independent publishing house and is not official tutorial at schools in Latvia: “Yes, it is noted in the textbook that this is unrecognized state and this republic is a part of Azerbaijan. Relevantly, all information about Nagorno Karabakh is given in Azerbaijan unit”.
Baumanis also noted that the embassy warned the publishing house that such geographical divisions reflected in the world maps will cause certain misunderstandings: “We have warned them and will take necessary measures if such mistakes are made in the future”.
The ambassador underlined that Latvia has always recognized Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.
