Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan issues statement

Baku. Shamil Alibeyli – APA. The Embassy of Iran in Azerbaijan has issued a statement on the return of Ahmad Ahmadzadeh, the officer of the embassy's Cultural Center, to Iran, APA reports. The statement issued on the behalf of the embassy spokesman Seyed Mohammad Ayatollahi notes that Head of Finance Department of Iranian embassy's Cultural Centre Ahmad Ahmadzadeh was detained by employees of Azerbaijan’s State Migration Service on November 19 due to visa expiration.

 

The statement says that Ahmadzadeh has a service passport, under international conventions, the intervention of the Migration Service in the registration of official passports is illegal. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs can also deal with this issue. As a result of negotiations held with the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Ahmadzadeh has been released an hour later. At the request of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan and due to the visa expiration, Ahmad Ahmadzadeh returned left Baku for Tehran on November 21.

 

Iran has handed a note of protest to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry due to the intervention and behaviour of the State Migration Service of our country.
