Baku hosts conference “Cooperative approach to energy security: View from NATO and beyond”

Baku. Victoria Dementyeva – APA. The conference “Cooperative approach to energy security: View from NATO and beyond” is being held in Baku.

APA reports that the event is organized by the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Azerbaijan within the cooperation with NATO.

NATO Officer-Coordinator for the South Caucasus William Lahu stressed the importance of cooperation with the three countries of the region – Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia.

Michael Rühle, Head of the Energy Security Section in NATO's Emerging Security Challenges Division, spoke about the cooperation with Azerbaijan in this sphere: “Azerbaijan is a key country in energy security and takes part in NATO activities as a partner country. Focus on Azerbaijan is important for NATO.”

As part of the conference sessions, participants will discuss NATO-Azerbaijan cooperation in terms of collective security, and the delivery of Caspian gas to Europe. Several NATO officials, experts from NATO countries and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Azerbaijan are attending the event.
