We are united by historical and neighborly relations,” said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the meeting with the Georgian delegation led by President Giorgi Margvelashvili on February 12.
President Aliyev stated that Azerbaijan and Georgia, as independent states, are actively cooperating in all areas: “We have today exchanged views on the issues of mutual interest in bilateral and multilateral relations. I’m confident that we will further increase the potential of mutually productive cooperation. Georgia is our brother, friend, neighbour and partner. I’m sure that the further development of our relations will be positive and dynamic.
We are united by a number of regional and global projects. We have always been committed to our common goals. In the coming years we will work more actively to realize them,” he said.
Georgian President Margvelashvili said the visit is of great importance for them.
“We approach sensitively the relations with our Azerbaijani colleagues. As you have mentioned properly, our countries are setting a special precedent of cooperation, creating conditions to improve opportunities, not problems, for exemplary cooperation. You have properly underlined the directions offering historical opportunities for the people both in our region and beyond. We are creating opportunities. We are jointly establishing these opportunities. We are very glad that this cooperation is seen as a cooperation developing not only at present, but also in the future paving the way for new projects, new dynamics in the region,” he said.
