The Ambassador noted that there are close relations between the two countries for more than 22 years: “We believe that the Azerbaijani government will open its embassy in Israel. However, the opening of the embassy depends on Azerbaijan, not on Israel. This step can lead to the next stage of our relations. This issue was discussed during the visit of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Samad Seyidov to Israel. We have also established Azerbaijani-Israeli Chamber of Commerce. Azerbaijan is a member of the UN Security Council and Israel appreciate a lot from this country. I believe that we will implement bright projects in the future.”
He said that relations between the two countries in various fields are gradually increasing: “Israeli companies are functioning actively in Azerbaijan and mostly cooperating in energy sector. Azerbaijan supplies 40% of Israel's demand for energy.”
