At a press conference attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov, President of the European Olympic Committee (EOC) Patrick Hickey and executive committee member of the EOC Spyros Kapralos.
Opening the press conference EOC President Patrick Hickey said that the preparations for the first European Games in Baku are at a high level. Describing his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Patrick Hickey noted that the preparatory works for the first European Games are conducted under the supervision of the Head of State. He expressed confidence that the first European Games will be held at a high level.
Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov noted that the preparatory work for the first European Games are conducted at an accelerated pace. Minister brought to the attention of the construction of 4th sports facilities. Rahimov added that currently in Baku continues to build the Olympic Stadium and Water Sports Palace. He noted that in the near future will be put into operation Gymnastics Center. Minister reported on the large-scale works on the part of transport, accommodation for athletes, security delegations of participating countries, organizing competitions and other issues.
