Baku. Shamil Alibeyli – APA. “There are a variety of contradictions in the statement of the head of the Russian military base deployed in Gyumri, Armenia,” Elnur Aslanov, head of Political Analysis and Information Provision Department of the Presidential Administration told journalists, APA reports.
Commenting on the statement of Commander of 102nd Russian military base deployed in Armenia Colonel Andrey Ruzinsky, Aslanov said on the one hand this person speaks about Azerbaijan’s jurisdiction over Nagorno Karabakh with this emphasizes that Nagorno-Karabakh belongs to Azerbaijan and on the other hand speaks contrary to it: “This statement is full of contradictions. As President Ilham Aliyev has stated, Azerbaijan is now stronger and more independent than ever before. Azerbaijan today has a very strong army and an independent policy. Azerbaijan will not allow any state to interfere in the restoration of the jurisdiction over its territory. Azerbaijan’s territories have been occupied by Armenia, Azerbaijan has not occupied anybody’s territories, nor interfered in anybody’s territory. Azerbaijan has more than one million refugees and IDPs. If the peace talks do not result as we want – in the restoration of Azerbaijan’s jurisdiction over its territories, of course, Azerbaijan may turn to various variants. No person referring to his personal views and contradicting the position of the state can prevent us from doing it.”
