4th meeting of Ukraine-Azerbaijan Presidential Council takes places - <span style="color: red;">PHOTO

At the beginning of the meeting Viktor Yanukovych said Ukraine highly appreciates the friendship with Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan’s assistance and support.

“We are grateful to Azerbaijan’s President for respecting Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. We like it very much. We remember various periods in our relations, hard times of our countries. A friend in need is a friend indeed,” he said.

Viktor Yanukovych said once Azerbaijan sent oil to Ukraine and rescued the country’s power economy and agriculture. He congratulated Ilham Aliyev on his victory in the presidential elections and wished stability and prosperity to the friendly Azerbaijani people.

Azerbaijan’s President said they highly appreciate the relations with Ukraine and will do their best for the further development of the relations.

“We are trying to give a new content to the relations. Our countries have close cooperation in a number of spheres. The next meeting of the Presidential Council is a new step towards the strengthening of the mutual relations,” he said.

Ilham Aliyev expressed his confidence that Azerbaijan and Ukraine will continue strengthening their sovereignty, moving towards the important economic, social and infrastructural tasks.
