“Ten years from now, we will look at our relations and say, ‘How did we manage to do this?’” UK Ambassador to Azerbaijan Duncan Norman told APA during the diplomatic corps’ visit to Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur.

The ambassador stated that, in 10 years, the unexpected aspect of Azerbaijan-UK relations today will be the further development of relations: “Considering our relations, which are already incredibly good and based on BP, in 10 years we will look back and say, ‘We have made our relations even better.’”

According to him, more British companies are expected to operate in Azerbaijan in the future, and ties are expected to expand in all areas of cooperation, from security to economic growth. He also noted that the number of mutual visits would increase.

Duncan Norman noted that, first of all, the issue of strategic partnership must be finalized and the relevant document must be signed. He expressed hope that this would happen in the near future.

According to the ambassador, a number of new projects will be implemented after that. Among them are interesting projects in the fields of artificial intelligence and technology.

“We hope that we will be able to announce some news regarding this soon,” he said.

Duncan Norman also noted that two British ministers will visit Azerbaijan over the next month. According to him, one of the ministers will arrive in Azerbaijan at the end of September and the other in October. The ambassador assessed this as another example of the close relations between the countries.
