The Foreign Ministry’s press service told APA that the resolution put forward by Azerbaijan to support the implementation of TASIM project takes into consideration the development of relevant telecommunication infrastructure for elimination of “digital divide” in the Eurasian region and enhancement of the cooperation between the state sectors.
The resolution also covers the proposal on the establishment of Eurasian Connectivity Alliance made by Azerbaijan with the view of making contribution to the development of telecommunication transit routes in the region and improving the coordination between the governments, private sector, civil society and international development institutions.
As a result of the activities, the initiative on TASIM was supported by various regions and several influential UN members joined it as co-authors. They are the US, Australia, Belarus, China, Afghanistan, Georgia, India, Israel, Iraq, Canada, the Republic of Korea, Kuwait, Lebanon, Kazakhstan, Morocco, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, the Federation of Russia, Sri-Lanka, Tanzania, Turkey, Ukraine, Japan, New Zealand and etc.
