Baku-APA. Ukrainian MP Fedor Negoy whose scandalous statement caused an international resonance, apologized to Azerbaijanis. According to head of Azerbaijani community in Crimea Rahim Humbatov, Ukrainian MP called him and said that he didn’t want to offend Azerbaijanis.
The MP of the Supreme Rada Fedor Negoy called me and during a long telephone conversation he repeatedly apologized to Azerbaijanis. He said that in any case did not want to offend Azerbaijanis, "said Rahim Humbatov.
"We agreed with him that if a scandalous statement was made publicly - at the press conference, it would be expedient to refute it as was made public. Fedor said that immediately upon return from Kiev to Kherson will hold a press conference and apologize. We decided that, prior to his press conference; details of the conversation will not be made public. However, due to the fact that the mass media spread inaccurate information, we have to amend this information, "said Humbatov.
According to him the Ukrainian MP realized his mistake and apologized for his statement against Azerbaijanis and after F. Negoy keeps his promise Azerbaijani diaspora in Ukraine will consider the incident closed.
