Istanbul. Mayis Alizadeh – APA. “There is a need to make changes in the OSCE Minsk Group,” spokesman for Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Selcuk Unal told APA’s Turkey correspondent. He said that the OSCE Minsk Group has already lost its neutrality: “It is out of question that the country, which has adopted drafts laws on slander against Turkey at the parliament, is neutral with respect to Armenia, so France’s membership of OSCE Minsk Group should be reconsidered. Russia’s support to Armenia is not a secret. The countries such as Ireland located far from the region, don’t need to be represented in the OSCE Minsk Group. Turkey is ready to do its best objectively in this issue.”
Asked about the fate of the Zurich protocols signed on October 10, 2009, Unal said Armenian Constitutional Court disabled the Zurich protocols by the decision passed in January, 2010.
“Therefore, initiative to include the protocols into the agenda again is out of question. We can demonstrate good will regarding any step aiming to liberate the Azerbaijani territories from Armenian occupation and establish peace in the region, but for this to happen the preconditions must be fulfilled, the liberation of the Azerbaijani territories come on top of them,” he said.
Unal underlined that currently there are no relations with Armenia directly, or through mediators.
