The issue has already been included into the agenda of international organizations. The issue was discussed at the roundtable on the theme “World without Nazism” dedicated to the Human Rights Day in Kyiv. Chairman of Ukrainian Azerbaijanis Congress Rovshan Tagiyev told APA that the representatives of Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry, diplomatic missions, parliamentarians, members of international and local public organizations attended the event organized at the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine.
Rovshan Tagiyev drew attention to the abovementioned issue. He noted that member of the Ukrainian parliament Fyodor Negoy insulted the Azerbaijanis at the meeting in Kherson province. Tagiyev said strict measures must be taken regarding it. He said such kind of statements by parliamentarians are inadmissible, they must be prevented. He called on the Ukrainian public and government agencies to take concrete steps to struggle against such cases.
Tagiyev said that there was no problem of xenophobia in Ukraine and this country was always distinguished in the CIS area for it high-level of tolerance. Supporting Tagiyev’s speech, MP Valeriy Bondik promised that the issue on Negoy’s statements would be included in the agenda of regulation committee of the Ukrainian parliament.
A representative of “World without Nazism” international human rights organization underlined that the information on it would be sent to the central headquarters of the organization in Strasbourg and decision would be passed on the deputy’s groundless speech.
