Russia-Iran consultations on Caspian problems held in Moscow

Baku. Anakhanim Hidayetova – APA. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs held Russia-Iran consultations on the Caspian problems.

The Russian delegation was led by the special representative of the President, special assignments ambassador I .Bratchikov, the Iranian delegation was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs M. Akhundzade, APA reports quoting the press service of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting focused on the current issues of the cooperation between the two countries in the Caspian region, the implementation of the decisions of the third Caspian summit in Baku on November 2010 and on agreement of the convention on the Caspian Sea Status.

The discussions show the closeness of Russia and Iran positions on the Caspian problem and their efforts to reach all-round cooperation on the Caspian Sea and progress in the five-party negotiations on the new Caspian Sea Status.
