Baku. Victoria Dementeva – APA. The resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly was a symbolic one. It was meant to give a trust and support the peace process. This decision will serve to the peace process”, ambassador of the State of Palestine to Azerbaijan Nasser A. Kareem told APA. I would like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to Azerbaijan voting for the resolution. We appreciate that and gratitude to Azerbaijani leadership and people and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Azerbaijan has always supported Palestine and Palestinian people.

The ambassador noted that the countries which voted for the resolution are the friends of Palestine for ever. The countries which unfortunately chose not to vote for they are calling for human rights and justice I would like to say that human rights and morality are universal values. They can not be selected to implement on one place and not to other. This is not only victory for Palestine, but also victory for human rights, morality and justice. This will put Palestine in the right place. We consider it as the modest victory.

Kareem noted that we looking forward for Palestinian reconciliation and to continue discussing with world powers how to go back to a peace process that will have result not peace process only for the sake of negotiations. We want a peace process that based on international law, on the terms of references like UN resolutions, like the agreement that have been signed based on the roadmap and Arab peace initiative of 2002. So that vote was vote peace. The countries who voted for Palestine yesterday they voted for peace and moderation.
