Jean-Claude Mignon reminded his statement condemning the murders in Paris: “I did not want to go into the details in that statement. However, we are gratified with the recent negotiations between the Turkish government and the PKK. We hope that this dialogue will produce results. One of the political groups of the PACE suggested discussing this issue as an urgent issue. We did not approve it, as the government of Turkey is currently conducting such negotiations, and it would be better if negotiations are held in this direction. I think it is not so important to hold extra discussions on this issue at the Assembly. We are closely observing the negotiations now and our intervention at the present stage would be wrong. We can raise this question again in our next sessions.”
