Baku – APA. Chairman of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture Latif Huseynov delivered a speech on the committee’s annual report at the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
APA reports that at the hearings, attended by Deputy General Secretary of the Council of Europe Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni and permanent representatives of the 47 CE member states, Huseynov gave detailed information about the activity of the Committee in the recent years and answered numerous questions of the participants.
It was said that the representatives of the Committee visited 18 countries, including Azerbaijan in the reporting year.
The report especially covered the issues on strengthening cooperation among the national preventive mechanisms already established in 25 European countries in accordance with Optional Protocol of the Convention against Torture and European Committee for the Prevention of Torture.
