Israeli ambassador: “Azerbaijan’s support to Palestine in the UN vote will not have an impact on our relations”

Baku. Anakhanim Hidayatova – APA. “The strategic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel is being developed. This year, the trade turnover between the countries is more than $ 4 billion,” Israeli ambassador to Azerbaijan Rafael Harpaz told journalists, APA reports.

 

He said that a lot of companies of Israel were functioning in Azerbaijan, at the same time Azerbaijani companies in Israel: “Azerbaijan is considered as a suitable and reliable country to establish business relations. Israeli companies want to develop the cooperation in four directions – agriculture, water supply, health, communications and information and cyber security.”

 

Harpaz said that at present, both countries were developing the agreement on the elimination of double standards taxes and it would be signed next year.

 

According to the diplomat, the documents on cooperation in agriculture between Israel and Azerbaijan and application of facilitated visa regime for diplomats are expected to be signed next year.

 

Asked whether Azerbaijan’s support to upgrading the UN observer status of the Palestinian Authority from “entity” to “non-member state” can have impact on the relations between the two countries the ambassador said: “It will not have impact on our relations. We are strategic partners. There are many common things between the two countries.”
