Baku. Malahat Najafova - APA. No Azerbaijani has been injured in the clashes in Egypt between the supporters and opponents of President Mohamed Morsi, spokesman for Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev told APA.
He said they regularly contact the Azerbaijani embassy regarding the Cairo happenings. The embassy in its turn keeps in touch with the Azerbaijani citizens living there.
“The embassy has especially advised the Azerbaijani citizens not to go to the central parts of the city. The embassy continues working normally,” he said.
Note that, the protest actions have been held in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, for a few days demanding the resignation of President Mohamed Morsi. The president’s supporters clashed with opponents in Al Maḥalla al KubrÄ city – on 80 km north from Cairo yesterday. The conflicts started in the daytime were continued with street fights. The sides also used firearms.
