According to him, the issues on the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict were discussed at the meeting. Prior to the meeting, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov had met with the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk. According to Elman Abdullayev, the parties agreed to hold one more meeting in the coming weeks and discuss the peace process: “The recent reports issued by the Armenian media outlets on the resettlement of Syrian Armenians in Nagorno Karabakh, including Kalbajar were discussed at the meeting.”
The Foreign Ministry expressed his concern over the resettlement of Syrian Armenians in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. The minister underlined that such steps are illegal and unacceptable”.
Elmar Mammadyarov also noted at the meetings with the co-chairs that the flights to Khojaly airport are illegal and said this can be carried out only as a part of the large-scale settlement plan: “It is illegal to launch any flight to the occupied territories as the aggression continues.
It is high time to sign a peace agreement, which is acceptable for all parties and to solve the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The fact that the Armenian armed forces are still in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan is the root of this conflict.”
