Elmar Mammadyarov: â€œI donâ€™t know a field called â€œSardar Jangalâ€ in the Caspian Seaâ€

Victoria Dementeva – APA. “We have checked all maps of the fields in the Caspian Sea at Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but didn’t find such a field,” said Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov at the press conference today, while commenting on Iran’s claims about “Sardar Jangal” field.

The Minister noted that there was “Sardar” field in the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan continued talks on this field within the framework of border delimitation in the Caspian Sea: “But we don’t know the field, which was mentioned by Iran’s media outlets.”

According to Iran’s media outlets, Minister of Petroleum of this country Rostam Ghasemi said field “Sardar Jangal” belonged to Iran: “Currently, we are conducting research in the area, where the field is located. “Sardar Jangal” is situated in Iran’s area and fully belongs to Iran.”
