Baku. Victoria Dementeva – APA. “The campaign aiming to achieve recognition of Khojaly genocide on the international level is widening year by year. In the near future we will witness wider legal assessment of Khojaly genocide in the world,” spokesman for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev told journalists, APA reports.
He noted that Azerbaijan’s diplomatic missions are working actively to achieve legal assessment of Khojaly genocide. The diplomat said Khojaly genocide was assessed for the first time in the final document of the OIC heads of state summit.
The final document of the 12th summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation contains a clause condemning the occupation of Azerbaijan’s territories and demanding the withdrawal of Armenian forces from the occupied territories.
